In this project, we thoroughly studied the brand MUJI, its values, aesthetics, and functionality. We were tasked to create a product related to the relationship between humans and technology as if MUJI was our client.

Customization, simplicity, and sustainability are the fundamentals of our creative process. By researching the best ways to declutter bags we concluded that every item and/or similar items need their own home and that our priority is to think about what needs to be most accessible.

Prototypes

Our group decided to address the issue of cluttered bags by designing a modular and straightforward organizer for the technological devices we carry daily.

We custom made the buttons by creating a 3D file on Rhino, and laser cutting them on balsa wood, then sanding and polishing them.

For the construction of the product we used wool felt and created a file with the dimensions to later be lazer cut for a clean finish.

Our product, a handbag organizer, includes a felt computer-shaped base, with slits for the buttons behind the detachable pouches. We made a variety of pockets, and through our research, we found the most popular devices people have and realized there is a large selection. We created pouches using measurements that adapt to various devices. The user buys the pouches separately according to the devices they own, we did this to avoid excessive consumption and follow our groups' commitment to customizability and sustainability.
